Introduction
Jeopardy Room (https://jeopardyroom.com) provides an online platform for creating, hosting, and playing Jeopardy-style trivia games. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, whom we share it with, and the choices you have. By using our website and services, you agree to the practices described here.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@jeopardyroom.com or through our help form.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Jeopardy Room, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you sign up, we receive your email address, display name, and authentication identifiers from our identity provider (for example, when you sign in with email or a third-party provider).
- Game and content data. Boards you create or save, clues, categories, game session state, scores, player display names entered at join time, and related metadata needed to operate games.
- Billing information. Subscription status, Stripe customer identifiers, and limited payment metadata. We do not store complete payment card numbers.
- Support messages. Information you submit through our help form, including your email address, optional name, and message content.
- Usage and device data. Pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, device type, and similar analytics collected through our analytics provider to understand product usage and improve reliability.
- Marketing preferences. If you explicitly opt in to product emails, we store your preference, the time and source of that choice, unsubscribe status, and delivery records needed to avoid duplicate or suppressed messages.
- TikTok integration data. If you connect a TikTok account to authorize Jeopardy Room to post content on your behalf, we receive OAuth tokens and basic profile information permitted by the scopes you approve (see the TikTok section below).
- Pinterest integration data. When an authorized Jeopardy Room operator enables Pinterest publishing, we process the Pinterest board, Pin, and video-upload identifiers needed to publish approved trivia content and link it back to a playable board. We do not request or use private Pinner content for this workflow.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- authenticate you and maintain your account;
- create, store, edit, and display your boards and game sessions;
- enable live multiplayer play, buzzers, scoring, and results;
- process subscriptions and provide customer support;
- generate board drafts when you use AI-assisted features;
- publish short-form video content to connected social accounts when you explicitly request it;
- monitor performance, prevent abuse, and improve the service;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Player names entered when joining a game are visible to the host and other participants in that game session.
TikTok Login Kit and Content Posting API
Jeopardy Room uses TikTok for Developers products so authorized operators can connect a TikTok account and upload short promotional videos about public trivia boards. This integration is optional and is not required to play or host games.
When you authorize our TikTok integration, we request the following scopes:
- user.info.basic — to confirm which TikTok account is connected and display basic profile information (such as open ID, display name, and avatar) inside our posting tools.
- video.upload — to upload a video file you select to your TikTok inbox as a draft so you can review and publish it in the TikTok app.
We use TikTok data only to:
- complete the OAuth authorization flow you initiate;
- show which TikTok account is connected in our interface;
- upload videos you explicitly choose to send to TikTok;
- refresh access tokens as needed to keep the connection working.
We do not sell TikTok user data. We do not use TikTok data for unrelated advertising or profiling. You can disconnect TikTok authorization at any time through your TikTok account settings or by contacting us. When you disconnect or ask us to delete stored tokens, we remove associated OAuth credentials from our systems, subject to short operational backup retention.
TikTok's own privacy practices are described in TikTok's Privacy Policy. Your use of TikTok features is also subject to TikTok's Developer Terms of Service.
Pinterest API integration
Jeopardy Room uses Pinterest's developer APIs to publish original Jeopardy Room video Pins to a configured business board. This optional integration is operated by an authorized Jeopardy Room account and is not required to play or host games.
The Pinterest workflow uses board and Pin permissions to confirm the destination board, upload a video, create the Pin, and record the resulting Pin URL. We use the returned identifiers only to associate a published Pin with its Jeopardy Room board and landing page. We do not sell Pinterest data, read other Pinners' private data, or use Pinterest data for unrelated advertising or profiling.
Pinterest's own privacy practices are described in Pinterest's Privacy Policy.
How we share information
We share information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers. We use vendors that process data on our behalf to operate the service, including hosting, authentication, database storage, payments, analytics, realtime messaging, AI generation, and social platform APIs (including TikTok and Pinterest).
- Other game participants. Information you provide during a live game (such as a player name or score) is visible to others in that session.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate abuse.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We retain account and board data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we delete associated saved data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or backup purposes. Support messages and billing records may be retained longer where required for compliance or dispute resolution.
Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information.
- Update profile details from your Account page.
- Request account deletion from Account settings or by emailing support@jeopardyroom.com.
- Opt in or out of Jeopardy Room product emails from Account settings or an unsubscribe link.
- Revoke TikTok authorization through TikTok or by asking us to remove stored tokens.
- Opt out of non-essential analytics where your browser or device provides that capability.
We will respond to verified privacy requests within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law.
Children's privacy
Jeopardy Room is intended for general audiences and is commonly used in classrooms and group settings with adult supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate consent where required by law. If you believe a child has provided personal information without consent, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
International users
We are based in the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or by email where appropriate.
